8th September 2026 Hiking - Walking: Around Felixstowe Wind Direction: Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: rain all day until late rainbow :) Max Speed: Distance Covered: Tuesday 8th September - walk ** – Around Felixstowe – rain all day until late rainbow :) We had a day of welcome steady rain here in Felixstowe, Mags water butts are overflowing and the grass is green again :) I headed out for a ride round Felixstowe just after seven to take some rainy pics and for a change I took my old mobile, I got several shots of beach huts without leaving the van before heading down to Felixstowe Ferry to snap the jetty, as an afterthought I noticed a puddle and got low and got some raindrops and reflections and was surprised when both the BBC and ITV used the same pic, so cracked it today! I then came home and changed the imaged to HDR on Snapseed which to be honest I am not keen on as it enhances the colour and makes the photo look false but the TV seems to like them as several people use this method and you can send pics in really quickly from a mobile! As the rain did not stop it was exercises in the back room after breakfast but being a Tuesday we walked round to our old friend Mary for a cuppa and chat and an umbrella was definitely required! We then walked home via the cliff top as the wind picked up and the rain increased! Then as if by magic at 5.45 the sun appeared as the rain moved away so I quickly drove down to the seafront to see a rainbow over the sea! Photo Album here |
